Dave Concepcion came to the plate and drew a walk. Eddie Murray struck out, unable to help the rally. Tony Gwynn came up and he hit a single to load the bases. Molitor stepped into the box and doubled giving N. Ridgeville the victory as 38,001 happy fans celebrated wildly. This was a game of many highs and lows for the home town fans, as the lead kept changing - 5 times in all. The winning pitcher was Jeff Reardon(1-2) who allowed no runs in 1/3 of an inning.
