In a game for the baseball purist, Sam McDowell(8-7) and Jake Weimer(8-6)
squared off in a tense pitching duel, Kelso Hilanders finally emerged
victorious over Bat Cracking Bombers, 3 to 1.

The game was decided in the top of the 8th inning.  After an out was recorded,
Cap Anson drew a walk.  Jack Fournier struck out, unable to help the rally.
Weimer then was wild with a pitch.  Roberto Clemente was up next and he
delivered a base-hit scoring the run.  The teams had been locked in a
scoreless duel until the 7th inning.

Mitch Williams gained credit for his 14th save.
