Hinckley came up with the deciding runs in the top of the 8th inning scoring 2 runs on 4 hits. After an out was recorded, Carl Yastrzemski was the sparkplug when he delivered a single. Brock got a great jump and stole second easily. Willie Keeler then bombed a two-run dinger (his 5th of the season). The game was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning. The winning pitcher was Dan Plesac(1-2) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Chief Bender(5-7) suffered the loss. He allowed 5 hits and 4 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings. |
