History:

There came a day, unlike any other, when Earth's mightiest heroes found themselves united against a common threat ...
A handful of the planet's foremost superhuman adventurers were drawn together by chance when the Asgardian trickster Loki attempted to set the Hulk on a collision course with his heroic foster brother Thor. Hulk's sidekick, Rick Jones, sent out a distress call that was answered by Iron Man, Ant-Man and Wasp. Together with Thor, the three heroes tracked down Hulk and uncovered Loki's plot.

On that day, the Avengers were born -- to fight the foes no single hero could withstand.

The newly formed team assembled a short time later at the midtown-Manhattan mansion of industrialist Anthony Stark, Iron Man's alter ego. Stark donated the mansion for the Avengers' exclusive use and established a foundation to cover all operational expenses incurred by the non-profit team.

The squad's roster has expanded since its inception, undergoing numerous changes. And while the team has faced countless challenges through the years, both internal and external, the Avengers always have risen to the occasion -- meeting and defeating any and all threats to the planet.
