FACTS ABOUT THE MOVIE . . .

Columbia Pictures will begin in principal photography on the live-action action-adventure " SPIDERMAN " in January, 2001 and has set the release of the film for May 3, 2002.

Sam Raimi ( "The gift", "For love of the game", "A simple plan" ), a self-confessed fanatic of the cagey, web spinning hero, will direct. After along line of potential directors, including James Cameron, Chris Columbus and David Fincher, Raimi claimed the directors chair . . .

Executive producer Avi Arad ( X-MEN, BLADE ), said that the film's villain will only be the Green-goblin, and DR Octopus will not be featured.

James Acheson designed the suit and here are 3 facts about it:

1- It's a one piece costume, the boots, mask and gloves are all attached.

2- Spiderman's lenses are made from the Oakley Sunglass Company.

3- There are over 120 indivivual silk screens on the SPIDERMAN suit, to give different impressions of shading and lighting effects when it's filmed.
