This page describes one of my motorcars, a Mercedes Benz 300/320 CE Sportline coupé.

The 300CE (C = Coupé, E (Einspritzung) = Fuel injection) is one of the last of the true Mercedes coupés, and continues to be one of the classically-styled MBZ sportscars. The 3.2 L 24-V I-6 motor was first introduced in the 1993 model. It was rebadged in 1994 as the E320 (E = Executive). The type-W124 was produced until 1995, and was superceded by the type-W210 (sedan and touring configurations only) in 1996.

  • Last of the 320CE line. MY93 US sales: 1019 cars, total production run: 2690 cars.
  • Rare AMG Sportline option (suspension and handling package) -- approx 20 cars in this color
  • Last of the "true" sporty 4-seat MBZ coupés -- clean roofline (no center pillars)

Mercedes Sportline option Sportline. The AMG Sportline option package is a handling and suspension upgrade to the already well-balanced base car. It was offered in approximately 10% of the 300/320 CE cars. Key components include:
  • Steering: Smaller steering wheel and quicker steering ratios
  • Suspension: Stiffer springs/dampers and thicker swaybars
  • Wheels/Tires: Wider wheels (7Jx15H2) and tires (205/60R15)
  • Seating: Contoured for sporting driving, with firmer thigh support and enhanced side bolstering
  • Other: Leather shiftknob; Sportline badging on front fenders and gearshift knob
