Once upon a time, there was a small Brazilian company that dealt in translating American comic books for Brazilian publishers. In the course of business, this firm, Art & Comics, had to contact a number of American comics companies to negotiate publishing rights, and ended up becoming legal representatives of a few of them for the Brazilian market.

Some time later, Art & Comics decided to make some use of its American contacts to branch into a new business: representing Brazilian artists in the American market. In the beginning, only some smaller publishers were willing to give it a try; but after a while, the high quality of the artwork provided by the Brazilian artists represented by Art & Comics impressed even the largest publishers. Together with its American partner, Glass House Graphics, Art & Comics brought to American comics fans the following artists, among others:
