As tragedies befall every family, Samuel and Cathern lost two children.  Samuel "Sam" was the oldes child , he grew to be a teamster but died at age 29. Willy, their fourth child died at age 12 from complications following a wagon accident.  Both are buried at Swallows Cemetery.
