Written Book Report

After reading an approved book, you will be writing a book report.  In this book report, I will expect several things that will contribute to your grade.  All of these criteria must be met.  You should write at least one paragraph for each topic.  Your report should be at least 250 words (about one page typed or two pages hand-written).

1. Introduction
   1. What is the title?
   2. Who is the author?
2. Characters
   1. Identify and describe the main character in the book.
   2. Identify and describe two other characters.
3. Setting
   1. Where and when does the story take place?
   2. How does the setting affect the story?
4. Plot
   1. What happens in the story?  Include at least six events in your description.
5. Conflict
   1. What is the biggest problem faced?
   2. How is it resolved?
6. Finale
   1. How does the story end?
   2. Were you happy with the ending?
7. Review
   1. Did you enjoy reading the book?  Why or why not?
   2. Would you recommend it to others?

Expectations: Please remember that a book report is an important piece of your work. I expect you to do your best. I particularly look for how well you FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. Reports must be turned in ON THE DUE DATE. Other important elements are neatness, using correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization. You have about a month to complete them so plan your time wisely. These are important habits for life!
