Laughlin McElyea was born 1726 in Northern Ireland and died after 1793, probably in North Carolina. He married Mary Powers.

    3. William McElyea, born 1758; Died March 1, 1845
    4. John McElyea, born June 8, 1760; Died October 8, 1784
    5. James McElyea, born May 9, 1762; D. between 1830-1832
    6. Mary McElyea, born 1764; D. 1867

 

* There seems to be the possibility that there was a Daniel McElyea also born to Laughlin and Mary McElyea.  He is reported to have been born in 1755.  If anyone has information to prove or disprove this fact, please contact me at: tiesfromthepast@aol.com
