Windows 98 PPTP 128 Bit Encryption Setup
This page describes how to set up Windows 98 as
a client machine to connect to a PPTP server with 128 bit encryption.
This is useful for connecting to a work network from a DSL/cable modem.
Steps:

Open "Control Panel"

Double click on Add/Remove Programs

Click on "Windows Setup" tab

Double click on "Communications"

Check the "Dial-Up Networking" and "Virtual Private Networking"
boxes

Close all of this
-
Reboot
-
Download this update
-
RENAME THIS FILE FROM *.zip TO *.exe

Install this file by double clicking on it

Reboot
-
Double click on "My Computer"

Double click on "Dial-Up Networking"

Double click on "Make New Connection"
-
Enter the connection name and select "Microsoft VPN Adapter"
as a device

Enter the IP address, finish

Double click on the connection in "Dial-Up Networking"

Enter your userid and password, things should connect
