The class teaches students to create databases using Microsoft's Access software. They will also be taught proper presentation skills.
Students will be put onto a computer and start working from day 1. They will be completing multiple databases during the course of the class. Each database will be given a different point value based on complexity and correctness. All points will be added up at the end of the quarter and divided against the total. The class will conclude with the student giving a brief presentation on a complex database they will construct.
Students are graded on all assignments. The final project will be worth one-third of their overall grade. Their grade is based on a percentage with 100% being the highest. Attendance is crucial and will count against the grade if sufficient time is missed. There is no homework as all materials must remain in the school. Assignments can be made up during class or during Flex. Arrangements can be made for extensive absences.
