The class teaches students to create web pages using the HyperText Markup Language (HTML). It will give them a brief history of web design and show them the basic components of a web page.
Students will be put onto a computer and start working from day 1. They will be completing multiple web pages during the course of the class. Each web page will be given a different point value based on complexity and correctness. All points will be added up at the end of the quarter and divided against the total. The class will conclude with the student giving a brief presentation on a 6 page web site they will create.
Students are graded on all assignments. The final project will be worth one-third of their overall grade. Their grade is based on a percentage with 100% being the highest. Attendance is crucial and will count against the grade if sufficient time is missed. There is no homework as all materials must remain in the school. Assignments can be made up during class or during Flex. Arrangements can be made for extensive absences.
