On a Saturday evening in the fall of 2007, I took part in a short exploration of the ballroom
and other upstairs areas of the Elks. It wasn't a perfect investigation by any means: word had gotton
out that 'ghosthunters' were coming, and a flock of young teenagers showed up to watch.
It was no surprise that the investigation didn't seem to reveal much...no EVP's or temperature
fluctuations. However, in one room, I took several pictures, and when I reviewed them, discovered
an orb.
Orbs are balls of light that appear in pictures. Many paranormal investigators consider them to be
a sign that spiritual energy is present. Unfortunately, digital cameras often pick up dust motes
that may appear to be orbs. What was most unusual about the orb in the Elks was that there was only one,
(if dust had been raised in the area there should have been several). The orb didn't appear on
any other pictures.
