IH produced the Farmall M from
1939 to 1952. It was a very popular tractor, with over 250,000
tractors sold. The Farmall M was the largest row crop tractor at the
time that International Harvester made. In 1941 IH introduced the MD.
This was a diesel version of the M. It would start on gasoline and
then when warmed up switched over to diesel. It has a 248 cid 4
cylinder engine with a 6 volt electrical system. The Farmall M has 5
forward gears and 1 reverse gear. There were 270,140 M's produced
from 1939 to 1952 and 18,253 MD's produced.

The serial number is located on a silver plate on
the left side of the clutch housing.
