Long Cane Creek

Long  Cane  was  the treaty dividing line between the settlers and Indian land  and  before  they  pulled back following the Revolutionary skirmishes [on which  the Indians picked the "wrong" side], there was a great deal of Indian edginess and  a  few  atrocities  due  to  settlements west of Long Cane [basically high respect  for "the Great White Father" but an alternating love-hate relationship with  the  King's  subjects].
