THE NEXT GENERATION
OLIVE

A
rather serious girl, Olive met and married Maurice Spencer
at the relatively young age of 18. They also had just one
daughter Mildred, who I believe was around the same age
as her cousin Mary. A very pretty girl, Mildred was bright
and outgoing, yet married a very quiet, studious young man,
Fred Townend, a bright young scientist. Sadly, Fred died
when in his prime, tragically drowning in the canal at Mirfield.
All the family were distraught as he was a lovely young
man, liked by all. He left a daughter, Barbara, who would
have been about 10 years old at the time. Years later, Mildred
met and married a lovely man called George O'Malley - a
widower, and 'inherited' two step-children, Kathleen and
Michael. Living first of all in the Isle of Man, they later
moved to County Cork, Ireland.
