The picture at the right is from outside the castle. If you look at the picture on the left, up near the top at the battlements, it is one of the holes on the bottom of the battlement. |

The Blarney Stone is the lowest part of the inside of the outer wall shown at the right, of a silghtly different color than the surroundings. It is said that anyone who kisses the Blarney Stone will be blessed with the gift of gab. Queen Elizabeth I coined the phrase due to her exasperation with Lord Blarney's ability to talk endlessly without ever actually agreeing to her demands. This hole in this picture is the same as the one above it, only here it is seen from on top. | ![]() |

And here is one of our tour members bending down to kiss the Blarney Stone. She still has a little ways to go. Notice the good grip she has on the bars? Many people were thankful for the gentleman helping them straighten up after bending backward. Many of our tour group took the opportunity to kiss the Blarney Stone. |
Looking down into the main hall of Blarney Castle. The ridges of stone along the edges formerly supported floors/ceilings for other levels. Rather small looking, isn't it? | ![]() |

Is this the way to the Garderobe? Did everyone, or anyone, notice the sign pointing to the Garderobe? Does everyone know what a Garderobe is? It has nothing to do with guards and one of the meanings doesn't have much to do with robes. |
