Neon Genesis Evangelion
In the last year of the 20th century, a research team found a creature known as Angels or "Shito" in Antartica. It exploded, and caused the Antartica Polar Ice Cap to melt and the earth axis changed. Then, the water level rose and destroyed all the coastal cities. Half of the whole human race were killed.

Mankind started to recover after that tragedy. To avoid "Shito" attack again and  confront this threat, a special secret agency known as "NERV" was set up. They were responsible for the study and annihilation of Angels. They built their secret headquarters at Geofront, which is the underground of the Tokyo-3 city. After 15 years of work, a humanoid fighting machine which can fight against Angels called Evangelion was developed by the world's top scientists and engineers. However, the pilots of them must be heavily trained and suitable with the Evangelion.
