Lasagne

Ingredients:

1 lb. ground beef
½ lb. Pork Sausage-mild
1 package (8 oz.) pepperoni
1 28-oz. can whole tomatoes
1 12-oz. can tomato paste
2 tsp. garlic salt
1½ tsp. oregano
1 tsp. basil leaves
2 cups cottage cheese
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
12 oz. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
6-7 strips of Lasagna noodles, cooked and well drained
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In large skillet, cook and stir beef and sausage until brown. Drain off fat.
  3. Add tomatoes; break up with fork.
  4. Stir in tomato paste, pepperoni, garlic salt, oregano, basil.
  5. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 20 min. or until mixture is consistency of spaghetti sauce.
  6. In separate bowl, Stir together cottage cheese and ½ cup Parmesan cheese.
  7. Set aside 1 cup of meat sauce and ½ cup Mozzarella cheese.
  8. In an ungreased pan (13 x 9 x 2 inches), alternate layers of: 1/3 each noodles, meat sauce, Mozzarella cheese and cottage cheese.
  9. Finish with reserved meat sauce on top, Parmesan cheese, then Mozzarella.
  10. Bake uncovered 45 minutes. Let stand 15 min. before cutting into 3-inch squares.

Serves 8-10.
