The UCLA Bruins finished the 1997 season with a national rank of.....
#5 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll
#5 in the ESPN/USA Today College Football Coaches Top 25 Poll
UCLA went virtually unnoticed in the pre-season. The Bruins were unranked and not talked about. After an 0-2 start, the Bruins fought their way to a present standing of #5 in both polls. This is UCLA's highest final ranking since 1982, when they also placed fifth on both polls. Way to go Bruins!
