The Silkie is an fun and unusual breed of chicken. It has broken feathers giving it a Goose-Down softness and appearance. The Silkie also has black skin (and meat!), and an extra toe on each foot. They lay a tan egg and have a turquoise earlobe. They are a feather-legged breed and have a crest, comming in both bearded and non bearded types. Very sweet in disposition. The Silkie originated in china. They only come in bantam size in the USA and is recognized by the APA. |
