provided by Cathy Spencer/ there is documentation of him having 23 children though only 8 are listed: other children listed in 1880 History of Indiana Co, PA are Jacob, George, Simon. There is a baby that died in 1831 with a stone in Rowley Cemetery with the name of Roy Bartlebaugh.
Newspaper clipping of 4 Oct 1922: Abner Bartlebaugh, aged 94 years, died in the Indiana County Home on 28 Seop. His body was brought to the S.C. Streams undertaking parlors. He had no known relatives. Burial was made in Oakland Cemetery.
Another clipping: Funeral Services for the late Abner Bartlebaugh, aged 92 years, an inmate of the County for the past 4 years will be conducted from the home of Henry Bartlebaugh in Arcadis tomorrow afternoon at 2 pm with interment following in Rowley Cemetery. The deceased was the son of Isaiah and Elizabeth Bartlebaugh.

death date and notice provided by Cathy Spencer. John W. Bartlebaugh had 12 children, 28 grand children and 35 g-grandchildren as of 1922. He died after an illness of 4 years. He was one of the early settleers in that section and had a host of friends. He was a good neighbor, also a Christian of ability. In his time made many talks in different churches and always upheld Christianity. When it came time to depart this life he assured those who were with him he was ready to meet his master and not afraid to die
