1.0 - Player Eligibility

A. Participants must be at least 18 years of age.
B. Participants must have attended the high school that they wish to represent for at least one full academic year.
C. Participants must have been a member of a junior varsity or varsity level volleyball program at the high school that they wish to represent for at least one full season.
D. A season in which a player was ruled academically ineligible, dismissed from the team, or quit the team will not count towards the full season requirement.
E. Players who do not meet the above criteria may seek to gain eligibility through inclusion on the "grandfathered list."  All players who are included on the "grandfathered list" are eligible to participate.
F. Candidates seeking inclusion on the "grandfathered list" will be judged by their ability to contribute to the competitiveness of the tournament through a review of their volleyball experience amongst other criteria as deemed necessary by the tournament management.

2.0 - Team Eligibility<

A. A team that wishes to participate must have a minimum of six players on the roster.
B. Each school can submit up to two teams for participation in the tournament.  The team's will be designated as A and B teams.
C. There is no roster cap although team organizers shoudl be mindful of restrictions imposed by playing time and cost.
D. Each team must have one designated captain and co-captain.
E. Each team will be allowed to designate one libero player per game who must be distinguished by a unique jersey.

3.0 - Conduct

A. If there is a referee ruling that is in dispute only the captain or co-captain may approach the referee stand.
B. Unsportsman-like or abusive behavior, as determined by the tournament management, will not be tolerated.  Any player deemed in violation will be given a verbal warning for the first offense.  A second offense will result in immediate dismissal from the remainder of the tournament and removal from the tournament grounds.  Failure to leave the premises will further result in the disqualification of their team.
C. It is the responsibility of the captain and co-captain to control the conduct of team players, each instance of player misconduct will result in the forfeiture of $10 from their team security deposit.  Upon occurence of the third instance of player misconduct, the team will be disqualified, will forfeit the entire sum of the team deposit, and will be banned from participating in the next year's tournament.
D. All teams will be required to cover referee shifts consisting of one top ref, one down ref, two linesman, and a score keeper.
E. DUE TO THE LIMITED TIME CONSTRAINT ON THE TOURNAMENT, punctuality is a must.  Referee teams are expected to arrive at their assigned courts five minutes before the match and to commence gameplay at the designated start time.
F. Teams that are late to workshifts will forfeit $10 from their team deposit per offense up to three offenses.  Upon occurence of the third offense, the team will be disqualified, will forfeit the entire sum of the team deposit, and will be banned from participating in the next year's tournament.
G. Teams that fail to cover workshifts will be disqualified, will forfeit the entire sum of the team deposit, and will be banned from participating in next year's tournament.

4.0 - Tournament Organization<

A. The tournament field will be composed of 32 teams total,  16 teams on the men's side and 16 teams on the women's side.
B. The tournament will initiate with a round robin portion of play followed by a playoff portion of play.
C. The round robin portion of play will be composed of four pools containing for teams each.
D. Teams will be seeded based upon their final rankings in the previous year's tournament.  Those teams that did not participate will be randomly seeded thereafter.
E. The top eight seeded teams will be spread across the four pools uniformly with the bottom eight teams assigned to pools according to random draw.
F. The round robin portion of play will consist of two-game matches.  Games will be rally score to 25 with a cap of 29.
G. At the end of round robin play, teams will be reseeded based upon a point system; match win = 3, match draw = 1, match loss = 0.  If there exists a tie in point scoring, seeding will be determined by cumulative point differential.
H. Following round robin and reseeding, playoff portion of play will commence.
H. The playoff portion of play will consist of best-of-three-game matches.  Games will be rally score to 25 with a cap of 29.
I. The playoff portion of play is single elimination.
J. Teams will have five minutes of warm-up time before each match.

5.0 - Equipment

A. There are no team uniforms.
B. Players must wear a numbered shirt.  No two players may share the same number.
C. Liberos must be distinguishable from the rest of the team through a uniquely identifiable uniform.
D. Nets will be set at 7' 11 5/8" for men and 7' 4 1/8" for women.
E. Courts wil be set at 29' 6" x 59'.
F. Men will utilize the Molten ProTouch V58L-3N volleyball for play.  Women will utilize the Molten SuperTouch IV58L-3 volleyball for play.

6.0 - Game Play

A. Teams who do not have at least five players present at the designated match start time will automatically forfeit that match and have it counted as a loss.
B. A coin toss will be used to determine initial service side and receiving side.
C. Each team will be given two 30-second timeouts per game.
D. All other rules will be in accordance with 2007-2008 USA Volleyball Domestic Competition Regulations.

7.0 - Prizes and Awards>

A. The winning teams will be awarded with tournament medals and have their team name engraved on the tournament trophy.
B. The most valuable players from the men's and women's sides will each be awarded with an MVP trophy.  MVPs will be determined by a vote of the captains.
