As Hard As It Is Love

A hard core love came knocking at my door .

I was hurt like so many times before .

Yes we’ve been through heated times me and you .

I’ve heard you softly calling- Is it you ?

I turned my back on you and walked away ,

But there was something more you had to say .

Love has a meaning, its not just a word.

Its positively asking to be heard .

Don’t give up on the things you know are true .

There is love even when love don’t love you .

Sorry is just a word that’s hard to say .

Meanwhile all the hurt is grinding away .

Just like a time bomb but I heard you say ,

Don’t turn your back on me and walk away .

I’m sorry for the things I‘ve put you through .

I really didn’t think it would hurt you .

I’m sorry for it all - I’m sorry now.

I’ll try to make it up to you somehow .

As hard as it is.

As bad as things are,

Without love we’d never have got this far .
