Introduction to Cisco Networking Fundamentals

Course Number: CS99XX/CS974

This course covers topics including; LAN Switching, VLANs, LAN Design, Routing Protocols, Access Control List, and WAN Design. In addition, students will learn more advance router configuration techniques. The course utilizes text-base study material, simulation lab exercises, and demonstrations to reinforce routing concepts and router configurations. This course is the final course (equivalence to Cisco's Semester III & IV) in a series of four courses preparing students to pursue the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.

At Course Completion

Students who successfully complete the course will have acquired the following skills; the ability to configure WAN protocols on Cisco routers, utilized advance Cisco router commands to configure routers for optimum operation, configure Cisco routers to support TCP/IP and IPX/SPX LAN protocols, configure Cisco routers to support advance routing protocols, such as, IGRP, EIGRP, and OSP, and configure security features on Cisco routers to prevent unauthorized LAN/WAN access. In addition, students will have the required skills to pursue employment opportunities as network support specialists, LAN/WAN technicians, network systems technicians, IT marketing, IT sales, and/or IT management.
