West Los Angeles College

The MCSE Curriculum at WLAC

The MCSE curriculum at WLAC is structured for intermediate and advance students. MCSE certification candidates are expected to have at least one year of computer science course work completed and one year of hands-one experience using personal computers. In addition, candidates must meet all course prerequisites (candidates can take the appropriate Microsoft exam in lieu of a prerequisite) and enroll in MCSE courses in the predefined order.

MCSE courses are regular semester courses. As a result, for most students the MCSE curriculum requires two academic years or four semesters to complete. MCSE candidates can start the MCSE track any semester they wish and are not required to enter any degree or certificate program. It is strongly advisable for high school students and non-college graduates to pursue an Associate of Arts degree concurrently.
