During the month of October, we will be studying about spiders:  What makes a spider spin?  What would life be like as a spider?
For Reading, we will be read aloud to the class the classic Charlotte's Web*, There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly, Anansi the Spider, Anansi and the Talking Melon, Anansi and the Magic Stick*, Anansi and the Moss Covered Rock, Anansi Goes Fishing, Anansi Does the Impossible*, and Anansi's Narrow Waist*.  (The ones marked with an asterisk * are also Accelerated Reader books, and the students will be able to take AR tests on them after they are read to the class.)
For Math, we will be studying Solid figures, symmetry, and congruency.
In Social Studies, we will be learning about communities and neighborhoods.
