Some things, I think, are a waste of time. Algebra
is a good example. What use is algebra ever going to be to you, unless
you're some sort of scientist, or mathematician, or something like
that? (I'm not.) Answer: None whatsoever. Or trig? Or calculus? Not to mention
geometry. Although I've never been subjected to that particular type
of torture. Also, certain little things...like the 'Painter's Brush
Stroke' excercise in my piano book (which I hate). "As you play, imagine the smooth
brush stroke of a painter." Next thing you know, I I'll have to be a
tree, waving in the breeze, my branches flowing sweetly... Excuse me,
but what the sod does that have to do with playing the piano?!
We-elllllll absolutely nothin. :-) Don't you just LOVE stuff like that...
Now see I would LIKE learning to play piano if I could learn with songs I ENJOYED.
But noooooo I hafta play "Lollipop Stick Waltz" 219572 times. I'd much rather play Hey Jude.
Or Golden Slumbers. Or ANYTHING but a watered-down version of "I Gave My Love A Cherry."
Ack this is turnin into a PIANO ramble real fast...I gotta do somethin about this.
Sog's still addin' to this, GIVE HER TIME. Nah actually you should bug her about it, she's slow as Christmas
