I'm 24 and live
in Auckland. I love Holdens they rock. My favorite car would be hands down the
EH Holden but the VH/VL a close second. I'm actually building a EH Holden at
the moment but its going to be a long project. I'm going to put a VS V8 EFI
motor and 5 spd box and most of the other commodore gear it. I've brought most
of my stuff for that conversion from Rod at the Castlemaine Rodshop.
God guy helped heaps.
Too much Street Machine brought that on.
Yeah this is my work wagon until I finish the V8 in
my VH commodore. I should limit myself to one project at a time but can't help
buying the good deals.
My VL is only a standard 3.0L six Auto. Nissan motor basically.
I originally bought the car with the Group A kit with the Moonstone
gold paint. I ended up buying some 17" VT SS wheels and
some new rubber as the 15" wheels didn't cut it. Makes a huge difference
to looks and the way it drives. Its been lowered on King
springs (about 50mm I think) with Monroe GT gas shocks. If I hold onto it for
awhile I might buy a Pedders set-up or some Bilstein shocks and try some
different springs. Apparently both combos will give you a heaps nicer
ride. Not that its not good now. No extractors or exhaust until I know
what I want to do with it. Still lights up those 235's quite nicely. Go the
Romans ute ! Other than that I put a 'Momo' on it for xmas. Decked it out with a pioneer
CD changer, 4" alpines up front, 6 1/2" alpine components and tweeters
in the back, 2 x 12" 'Lanzar' competition subs and a Rockwood amp to
get them cranking. I'll have to invest into a better amp next. Only 121dB
at the moment but wouldn't mind an extra 20 or 30 dB and enter it some sound
offs. Not bad for a cheap set-up. Gotta have your cruise music. I think you can
almost guarantee a rebuild after the VH.
