| President’s Message:
At this time of year, most of us are hoping for a change in weather! I am looking forward to seeing you at our next meeting on Saturday, March 28, at the Golden Corral in Medina. As I was thinking of our group, I thought this poem would highlight my thoughts about our special group of women—Unity and Strength—author unknown. (I only used the lines that seemed so pertinent to our group.) “It is time we come forward; we have waited long enough, to be recognized as veterans. We’ve fought numerous battles of attitudes and prejudices. We are, indeed, unique, for we are risk takers, and ground breakers, by joining the service. We’ve marched in every war, helping fight behind the lines and on front lines with you. We’re here to join hands and voices in unity and strength, to claim our right to be recognized not just as women veterans, but that we’re veterans, too.” Again, I hope all of you are doing well and will schedule to meet with your officers and fellow members on March 28. Board Meeting:The board met at Buehler’s River Styx on January 24th at 9:00 am. Sally Porter, Sharon Nicholson and Lisa Klatka were in attendance. Upcoming events were discussed, as well as possible trips and ideas to increase membership. We are hoping to take a trip to the Ohio Veterans’ Home in June or July and possibly having a meeting this summer at the National Cemetery in Rittman. | Membership Meeting:The membership will meet at the Golden Corral on March 28th at 10:15 am.
