SUMMER ACTIVITIES
Greetings to all. The summer has been a very busy time for all
of us. The Memorial Day Parade, July 4th Parade and our fun picnic
have all been great successes thanks to our membership and those
hard at work planning these activities. The Parade Committee members
of Kathy Petras, Darlene Wellock, Sharon Nicholson and Doris Ramey
did an outstanding job organizing all of us and coordinating all the
details for successful marches. The Picnic was an opportunity to get
together, share stories and enjoy our camaraderie, thanks to Doris
Ramey for the patriotic atmosphere at the picnic and Julia Hach for
obtaining the Hubbard Valley Park Pavilion. The weather was great
and the food was delicious!
MCWM LIBRARY
We now have our own library of books and videos. Special thanks to
Doris Ramey for organization and hard work putting the library items
together. Contact Doris if you would like to check out any materials!
NOMINATING COMMITTEE
The committee is to meet September 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Sharon Kiesel's
house. If you are interested in being an officer or another position
in the upcoming year, please contact Sharon with your request.
The work we do is much easier when we have great members like you
participating.
UPCOMING EVENTS
September 15th: Women's Health Fair at the Galaxy in Wadsworth.
Contact Sonni Strong if you want to help staff the table from
10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
September 21st: Candlelight service in memory of POW & MIA soldiers
at the Vietnam Memorial on 246 Northland Drive, Medina. Meet in the
parking lot at 6:45 pm.
September 22nd: MCWM Meeting will be held at the Inn at Medina.
Jason McCourt of the Medina County Veterans Service Office will be
a guest and esplain how his office helps women veterans. Go south
on Rt. 3 out of Medina and the Inn is bout 2 miles out of the city
on the west side. Please nothe the new location for the meeting.
The time is 3:00 p.m. for the General Membership.
Please try to attend the meeting as this organization is involved
in many community activities and we need you!! We also have a lot
of fun doing what we do!
October 13th & 14th: Fall Foliage Tour. We will have 2 tables to
staff at this event. One at the OWR Cemetery and the second at
the Granger Historical Society. Volunteers are needed from 12:00
until 6:00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Special thanks to Doris
Ramey for her efforts in obtaining the tables for some great publicity.
Please contact Doris if you would like to help staff the tables.
Two members are requested to staff the table at any given time
and we need your help!!
November 11th: MCWM Veteran's Day Luncheon at the Inn at Medina.
See the enclosed reservation form in this newsletter. Now is the time
to write it on your calendar and send in your reservation.
Menu choices will be given to us, there should be something to eat
for everyone! We are expecting a great turnout.
Hope to see you there!!
December: Elections of Officers. Look for your ballot in the mail
and please return by Dec. 31st. We hope that everyone participates
in this important election.
