Desmond has not seen his father since that time and does not care to. He graduated in the upper part of his class from the Academy and was soon transferred to the USS Excalibur.

With the transfer of Lt. Steele to the attached Marine Battalion (2398.0406), Des has been promoted to Chief of Security/Tactical.

During the rescue of the ship's counselor and ops officer on Calcar 5 (2399.0211), Desmond Dalquist was killed in action. He is remembered fondly by the crew of the Excalibur.
