Local Woman Seeks Your Help to Make a Difference Abroad
| Misty Hensley-McGaffey, a volunteer with Cross-Cultural Solutions, will be traveling to India to work with impoverished women on health, education and domestic violence issues, and needs your help! |
Cross-Cultural Solutions' mission is to bring people together to work side-by-side while sharing perspectives and fostering cultural understanding. Volunteers are given individual placements based on their skills and interests, and work in community development projects. The only prerequisite is a desire to help others.
"Our programs make overseas social service accessible to people like Misty Hensley-McGaffey who juggle full-time schooling, jobs, families, or other long-term obligations," explains Cross-Cultural Solutions’ director Steven Rosenthal
All Cross-Cultural Solutions programs are run solely by volunteer contributions, and therefore each program has a fee. The fee for Misty Hensley-McGaffey's 3-week program, including all meals, lodging, travel medical insurance, and in-country transportation, totals $2,315 and does not include airfare to India.
