Maryland, 2002

This trip served for me to get to know Sonya and Dennis better. Sonya had already agreed to marry Fin (my husband) and I, but we wanted to clarify what we wanted in our ceremony and how we were going to make people from very different religious/spiritual backgrounds all feel comfortable.

Our departure began with me having food poisoning, which is the most miserable feeling to have while travelling! I had gone out to eat thai food at a side-of-the-road place with my mom the night before to catch up, and we both ended up sick the next day. She had the luxury of taking the day off from work, while I was getting on a plane and running to the bathroom a lot.

Sonya and Dennis were great about it, they let us take a nap in their bed when we arrived (after 6 hrs I was still feeling miserable) and they had to work. They took us on a tour of Baltimore, we met Sonya's mom and went swimming, ate at a BBQ restaurant and met some of Sonya's crowd.
