Graduated from Newton High School in 1954, Newton, TX. Spent four years in Air Force right after high school. Came back, completed college with a BS in Secondary Education from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX, and spent working career teaching high school mathematics in Silsbee High School, Silsbee, TX. Earned a MEd in School administration from Lamar. Early retired in 1988, and moved to the south end of Toledo Bend Reservoir on Texas side. Finally moved in with long time (38 years) companion and sweetheart, Bernice Lamberth, who had a house nearby at the lake in about 1992 when she became unable to take care of herself. She died October 31, 2000. At present (August 21, 2001) I am living in her house that she left me, and am active in the Masonic Lodge at Burkeville, TX.
Aunt Ardella was the other member of the family that did not come to Texas. She married a Lee and had several kids, one of which is Estelle that I have referred to several times. She and her family lived in what I think they called Lee Town near Picayune, MS. Her first husband died and she remarried a Martin I think. She died 2 or 3 years ago.
