BattleBots

MDRC was scheduled to take part in BattleBots in November but the event was cancelled. In Battle Bots The show's sponsor was Comedy Central. However they are looking for a new sponsor now. “Bane” will the main entry from MDRC.

RoboCup

RoboCup is the mechanical analogue of a soccer world cup but for the machines.  MDRC will be working hard in winter quarter on microbots to compete in the competition in time.

Battle Bots demonstration:
Date:  Saturday, September 6, 2003 Time:  7pm - 9pm
Location:  Small Parking Lot (in front of U) and behind the SAU

You can see a demonstration of the other RIT battlebot, and take a look at the SME autonomous tank. Both of the robots are currently hanging out in our lab, until space can be made for them in the CIMS lab.

MDRC was introduced to the Engineering Department in the July 2002 issue of the Electrical Engineering newsletter.
