DOUBLE DEALING

Chapter Five

She awoke lying on the front seat with him on top of her. She felt the pain again, but not as piercing as before.

"No, stop no, not again, no, stop...stop," she yelled, trying to lift her arms and push him off.

He had her arms pinned pretty well to her sides using the car seat and his other arm. He did not slow down, but continued to push into her while breathing heavily in her ear. Suddenly, he began to kiss her neck and ear. It was as if he thought that they were actually making love and that she would enjoy it.

"What are you doing? Stop I said, please stop, please, you don't know..." she said while beginning to sob again.

Her mind had still been clouded with the liquor when she first woke up, but now it was sharp, but in a sharp and painful state of shock. She continued to struggle, trying to get him off her. Suddenly, he was kissing her on the mouth. She moved her head violently from side to side, trying to avoid his mouth on hers.

“Stop...stop,” she slurred when she could keep his mouth off of hers.

He began to move faster, breath harder and stopped trying to kiss her. His body stiffened and she knew he had finished. Her mind was a sheering sheet of pain and her body was wracked with uncontrollable convulsions matching her sobs. He lifted off her and got out of the car, fixing his pants. Then he did something that was so unexpected that Laura simply went along with it. He leaned in the car and gently taking her hand, he raised her up toward him and helped her out of the car. It was as if he was helping her out of a car when they were returning from a date. She was in such numb shock that she actually got out of the car and stood there in the rain. Without saying a word, he got in the car and shutting the door, drove off.

She stood unsteadily, legs shaking, in the middle of the cold street, the rain incessantly pelting down on her . She looked up and saw her house, her front lawn and something in her mind told her she must get inside. She began to move, stumbling onto her lawn. She made it about half way to the house when she fell. She lay on the rain soaked grass, crying, unsure about whether she could get up or not. Emotions ran wildly through her and her body didn’t seem to have any strength left. She lay there for quite awhile, paralyzed by the wet grass and rain. She seemed to be in a dream, drifting in and out of reality. She heard the car pull into the driveway and vaguely heard someone talking to her, but she couldn’t make out the words. She saw a shape lean over her and felt strong arms gently lift her from the grass.
