RE            :            New School Policy on Promotion of Irregular Students, SY 2007-208

________________________________________________________________________

Please be informed of the new school policy on promotion of irregular students (i.e. Students who incur failures of less than three (3) units and are promoted to the next curriculum year):

  1. Irregular students should take the subjects in that particular year; however, there's no need for them to repeat the subjects they failed.

  2. They have to get passing grades in all of their subjects. The lowest passing grade or the minimum performance standard for students is set at 75 percent.

  3. Once an irregular student gets a passing grade in a certain subject in the current curriculum year, in which he incurred lack/back subject, the deficiency in this subject is waived.

  4. The grade that the student obtains in that subject in the current curriculum year will be the same grade that will be carried over to his back/lack subject. (For instance, student Y's grade in Math IV is 81. His back/lack subject is Math III. He will also get a grade of 81 in this subject.)

  5. This rule applies only to irregular students.

  6. Students who are retained (those who incur failures of three units or more) are not encouraged to take advance subjects.

Immediate and wide dissemination of this Memorandum is enjoined.
