we wanted to do something deliberate to welcome molly's spirit to this world. the question was what to do. there's catholic and jewish blood in the mix, yet our family doesn't feel very religious. we decided to create our own ritual, one that blended different faiths and traditions and created a spiritual welcome for molly. we called it a 'blessing.'
on june 8, 2002, molly's family and friends assembled. joanne wushke performed the ceremony in her beautiful garden. liz dugan stood up as the godmother, and chris wallingford as the godfather. molly was blessed, we all were blessed. then we had a parade! |
