This project is about creating a park and a monument, which symbolises national freedom. It is about helping to generate and maintain national pride among present and future generations of Saint Lucians. The intent is to transform Prevost Park and Redoubt at Morne Fortuné into Saint Lucia's First Heroes Park. The park will be designed to accommodate different categories of Saint Lucian Heroes and Heroines varying from political to educational to cultural and to community development. In the center of the park shall be the National Freedom Monument, which will symbolise liberation and freedom from physical and mental slavery.
