New to RPing
Hi, I realize that not everyone has roleplayed before, so I decided to make a section about it, so you are not completely lost!
First of all, we will start with a little bit of vocabulary. Sometimes there are words that you may not understand, so here are the definitions.
Admin- Administrator, basically the people in charge of running the site. On Meadow Heights, I have changed the name to head of staff.
G-Mod- Global Moderator, people who help the Admins run the site, though Meadow Heights doesn't have any. I have changed the name to leader on Meadow Heights.
Mod- Moderator, people who help run just one board or possibly a few.
RP- roleplay.
charry- character, the one you are acting as when you RP.
PM- private message, a sort of instant message used on Proboards & EZBoards sites.
OOC- out of character, when you would like to speak as yourself in an RP post, simpy write, "OOC: Your Message, blah, blah, blah."
BIC or IC- back in character or in character, after you write your OOC message, you can say, "BIC: Message." or "IC: Blah Blah Blah."
BRB- be right back, this is more of a chat term than an RP term.
BBL- be back later, again, more of a chat term.
G2G or GTG- Got to go, once more, chat term.
n00b- a term used on Neopets.com to mean someone who is annoying or not smart. We hope that people don't bring it here, but if you see it come up, that's what it means.
There are many different ways to RP. (The basics are astericks [*does this*] and storytype. [He did that.]) A cat named KitKat walking across the street and saying, "Hello" to another cat, Socks, could become:
*walks across street* Hello.
KitKat, a tan and white American Shorthair cat, walks across the road. He turns to the other cat, Socks, and says, "Hello."
*walks across road*
*turns to Socks and says*
Hello.
KitKat walked across the street, looked at Socks, and said, "Hello."
These are just a few of the ways you can post. Use one of these types, or think of your own creative way.
I hope this helped you learn the basics of roleplaying! If you still have a question, just post it in the Questions & Comments board!
