continued.......Meanies are back with a vengeance.......

The original Meanies were sold at small retail
shops. The key chanins will be sold exclusively
at 7-Eleven, the first time Meanies will be
available in mass-market retail outlets. They're
hitting a few stores this weekend, and will be at
all stores by Monday.

Only eight of the 12 original Meanies
characters will be key chains. Meanies series
No. 2 comes out later this month and will
feature Lucky, a one-legged rabbit with his
arms crossed.

"They're ever edgier, "Kushner said. "We have
a cow with mustache that says "Bessie got
milked. Another one is a Peeping Tom Cat"
They'll be $5 each.

Another series of Meanies will be launched in
August as parodies on celebrities, including one
call Mike Bison-a bison beanbag with
boxing gloves and an ear in it mouth.

The sale of Meanies key chains comes at a time
when Dallas-based 7-Eleven--the largest
convenience store in the world--is growing.
More than 300 stores will open nationally this
year.

"Meanies are representative of the new fresh
products we're offering now," said category
manager Ed Fusco. "They're certainly fresh."
