I am the Divinity that is your Reality. (SSS, X, 133.)
The Easwara, who causes Creation, Preservation and Dissolution ... is I Myself.... There is no substance other than Me; there is no Reality other than Me. I am the Primal Cause, the Primal Substance. (GV, 103.)
I am everything, everywhere, omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. (SM, 243.)
[This] Form ... is all Forms of all Gods. (SSS, VI, 212.)
This is a Human Form in which every Divine Entity, every Divine Principle, that is to say, all the Names and Forms ascribed by man to God, are manifest. (SSS, VI, 211.)
I affirm that this Sai Form is the Form of all the various Names that man uses for the adoration of the Divine. So I am teaching that no distinction should be made between the Name - Rama, Krishna, Iswara, Sai - for they are all My Names. (SSS, VI, 207-8.)
I answer to whatever Name you use; I respond to whatever request you make with a pure heart and a sanctified motive. (GDOE, 35.)
Revere any Name; the reverence reaches Me for I answer to all Names. Denigrate any individual; it affects me for all individuals are expressions of My Will. (GDOE, 35.)
You can call Me by any Name, I will respond, for all names are Mine. Or, rather, I have no particular Name at all. (LBSSSB, 101.)
I am all deities in one. (Sathyam, III, 282.) In my present Avatar, I have come armed with the fullness of the power of formless God. (SM, 236.)
What does Kesava mean? It means the supreme Godhead, whose one hair represents the Trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Siva, the Creative, the Conserving and the Disintegrating Potencies of the Divine. (SSS, VII, 3.)
Now that the Nirakara, the Formless, Attributeless Principle has come in human form, be earnest to observe the orders given for your own Liberation. Do not cast away the nectar of Grace when it is offered. (SSS, VI, 277.)
This age [will be a] Golden Age for the seekers of God, for earning and learning Viveka [discrimination]. (SSS, XI, 186.)
The fact that you are alive this day is a blessing, for you can know of these ideals and the means by which you can realise them in your daily life. (SSS, X, 17.)
This is a great chance. Be confident that you will all be liberated. Know that you are saved. Many hesitate to believe that things will improve, that life will be happy for all and full of joy, and that the golden age will recur. Let me assure you that this dharmaswarupa, that this divine body, has not come in vain. It will succeed in averting the crisis that has come upon humanity. (HMAP, 91.)
"Your mission has begun. Those are My words to you, My devotees. Each of you has a unique and valuable part to play in this lifetime. Only those whom I have called can serve Me
"My Mission has now reached that point in time when each one of you now has work to do. This planet has a purpose in the great galaxy in which it is held. That purpose is now unfolding before our eyes. I call upon you to radiate the Bhakti within you so that its unseen power will envelop all who come into your orbit.
To successfully perform your part always remain centred upon Me. Allow yourself to impart that purity of heart within you towards all human beings and all living creatures and do not reach for the fruits of your work."
"This part of My Mission is performed in absolute silence. You are My instruments from whom My love will pour. Be always aware that the moment you let your ego descend upon you My work ceases. When you have overcome your negative unmindfulness you will again become My Source."
"The multiplication of My Love will be felt throughout the world. I have prepared you for this work over many incarnations. I have drawn you to Me.
I have made great steps in My Mission over these past Incarnations. My work is ceaseless and so your work, too, is without end."
"Know that I am within you and without you. There is no difference. Rid yourselves of petty matters forevermore. You are now ME and I am now THEE. There is no difference. My Darshan will pour forth from Me to and through you. You may be unaware of this constant action. Be ever pure of heart and soul and mankind in your lifetime will benefit from your unique qualities."
"Others, too, will join Me in this Mission when I draw them to Me. The time is approaching when all humanity will live in harmony. That time will be here sooner than one expects. Sairam, everyone,
In this excerpt, we review what Swami has said about the timing of the beginning of his global mission. Swami says He is waiting, before beginning His mission, until all devotees who wished to see Him in former lives have had His darshan. Many of you will have heard this material before in shares on the Golden Age of Sai.
What has Baba been waiting for? In 1966, a group of devotees asked a question that drew this answer from Him. They sought His permission to call a great conference and announce His Divine Presence on Earth to the whole of humanity. He told them
"Your feelings for your fellow beings are commendable and I respect them. But that time is still far off. Prior to that I have to bring such persons near me, who, in their previous lives, have been incessantly and untiringly trying to get access to me through their severe sadhana. A time will come when the world will know about the Avatar through public declaration". (SSBNNGA, I, 38.)
In December 1968, Swami told Dr. John Hislop that "the change in world conditions to be brought about by Swami's influence will come in about 15 years." (CSSB, 101.) That means that the beginnings of the shift for the better in world affairs started around 1983. In 1971,Baba reported: "I have not started the work for which I have come, for I am still in the stage of preliminary reconnaisance. When I start my campaign the whole world will know of it and benefit by it." (LBSSSB, frontispiece.) In 1980, Hislop again asked when the change would occur. Baba replied: "Soon there will be a change."Hislop saw no evidence of it and Baba advised him: "It will be a universal change. Not local. It will occur every place." (MBI,
189.) Swami Himself says He will not hurry just because we are impatient.
I shall be in the mortal form for 59 years more and I shall certainly achieve the purpose of this Avathar, do not doubt it. I will take My own time to carry out My plan as far as you are concerned. I cannot hurry because you are hurrying". (SSG, 24-5.)
Sai does not force such things. He will be in [the] body for many more years. [The Golden Age] will develop naturally. Devotees of world stature, able to speak of Sai, will be present when the time is correct for them. (MBI, 205.)
Baba is not specific about the timing of the Golden Age. But He hints at events that will precede and proclaim its dawning. For instance, He says that, immediately prior to it, "the glory of Sai will spread to every part of the world. It will increase a thousandfold" over what it is today.
(SS, 36, Dec. 1993, 333.) Again, He says that, as it draws near, "My name and form will be found getting established everywhere. They will occupy every inch of the world." (GDOE,37.)
As we watch Sai's fame spread throughout Japan today, we might wonder if this kind of process is what He means by His name and form getting established everywhere. How can His Form occupy every inch of the world? V.K. Gokak has suggested there will be an "Hour of God" and a "descent of Grace." (BSSSB, 54.) Will He suddenly grow larger than the Earth so that He can be seen from every place on the planet? Will some form of effulgence -- light or energy -- proceed from Him and envelop the world in he fashion the Bible describes: "For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea"? (Habbakuk 2:14.) We can only wait to find out.
This section of the Intro discusses some of the events that may attend Baba's advent in what Dr. Gokak called the "Hour of God" and the "descent of Grace." (BSSSB, 54.) Baba will be proclaimed by devotees of world stature (probably including some of the legendary Himalayan sadhus and siddhis whom Baba has kept far away from Himself until all His devotees have seen Him - see SSBNNGA, I and II). He announces that sometime in the future He will lift a mountain range on His finger. On occasion, the crowds around Him will be so vast that he will have to walk across the sky.
When the right time comes, "devotees of world stature, able to speak of Sai, will be present."(MBI, 205.) Already the most respected figures in Indian politics, academia, medicine, and the arts regularly visit Puttaparthi to consult with Baba and honour Him on special occasions like His Birthday and Guru Purnima Day. Gradually other, non-Indian world leaders are making appearances at Prasanthi Nilayam as well.
While the Golden Age has not yet begun, a gradual shift for the better in world affairs is discernible with the fall of the Berlin Wall, and, with it,world communism, the reuniting of the two Germanies, the election of Nelson Mandella in South Africa and the fall of apartheid, and the gradual spread of peace among Arabs and Jews.
Baba hints at the condition of the world immediately before He leaves it, rumored to be by walking into the Chitravarthi River around 2021-2. By the last few years of Swami's physical presence on Earth, around 2018, there will be joy around the globe. "That is some 40 years away," Baba said in December 1978. "At that time the world will be peaceful. ... All will be love -- love, love, love everywhere." (MBI, 189.)
During the Golden Age, when Baba's manifestation of power increases a thousandfold, He declares that He will do the miraculous and the unexpected to prove His identity as God to doubters. For example, He has said that He will lift a mountain range.
Formerly, when the Govardhanagiri [Govardhana Mountain] was raised aloft by the little boy [Krishna], the Gopis and Gopalas realised that Krishna was the Lord. Now, it is not one Govardhanagiri, a whole range will be lifted, you will see! Have patience, have faith. (SSS, III, 23.)
The crowds around Him will be so vast that He will unexpectedly rise bodily above them.
" I will have to forego the car and even the aeroplane when I move from place to place, for the crowds pressing around [Me] will be too huge; I will have to move across the sky; yes, that too will happen, believe Me". (SSS, II, 90.)
He made the same prediction to Gokak: "One day, I shall walk across the sky ... so that every one can see it for himself." (BSSSB, 38.)
No one knows when Baba will publicly announce Himself. It may be soon. It may be on a date of symbolic importance like January 1, 2000. Knowledge of Him is indeed spreading rapidly around the world. Whatever the date, Baba calls His Will unstoppable and so the Golden Age will recur.Therefore, as Baba has said, "people born in this present generation may consider themselves quite fortunate." (CSSB, 101.)
