COVER LETTER

Personnel Manager
Employer-to-be

Dear Maam / Sir

This is a letter of application for Mechanical Engineer. I am a mechanical engineer with 8 years experience in the area of product design and evaluation.

I performed mechanical design from concept to production phase, and noise and vibration control for DLP (Digital Light Processing) projectors, which are commonly used for business presentation and home theatre, at the Digital Display Laboratory of LG electronics for 4 years. I developed the system level prototypes composed of optical parts such as lens and filter, and electronic printed circuit boards. In detail, I implemented the shape and function of mechanical parts using Solidworks and AutoCAD, and evaluated thermal and acoustic feasibility of parts and system experimentally. During the development, I designed the parts which fix the optical parts within tolerance zone and mount the motor reliably, such as plate, coil spring, and motor mount. All of things including these works were accomplished collaborating with my team colleagues using PDM Works as well as direct contact. Moreover, I solved many problems concerning the acoustical noise radiation and the reliability of materials such as rubber and adhesives.

I fulfilled RLDA(Road Load Data Acquisition) and fatigue durability simulation test to validate the parts of the suspension and the engine mount at Daewoo Motor Co.(GM-Daewoo) for 4 years. I acquired the road load data in the proving ground, MIRA, located in United Kingdom , and performed the fatigue durability of subsystems and parts of newly-developed vehicle using the load data. These tasks include the fabrication of customized loadcell using strain gage, the establishment of the electrical circuit such as wheatstone bridge, the force calibration of the loadcell, the operation of data acquisition system and so on.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to hearing from you soon. I can be reached by e-mail mechaic@yahoo.com . Please feel free to give me e-mail.

Best regards
HyungJin Lim
