Day 1

Upon entering the tube they like to call a plane, I recalled that one benefit of being short - the ability to actually fit into small spaces (specifically those usually found in public transportation). So overall the flight wasn't too bad and we got to stop over in one of the world's friendliest cities - Newark. The check through and delay wasn't too bad and we were off by midnight.

My first overseas flight (or trip of any kind), so it was cool. Actually it made no difference, I was in a flying metal tube for God's sake. It was also my first flight with actual meal. Not bad, even with the raw salmon sandwich. And yet another first for me - in flight movie. Unfortunately it had to be "Shakespeare in Love", but beggars can't be choosers.

Considering I figured the movie would blow goats, it was actually a pleasant surprise. During the retardly slow or overdramatic parts, I simply switched to the audio channels (pre-programmed music) and found quite a surprise - Danish Jazz. This was fun, mostly due to the Danes liking to copy American music. Specifically they seem to be about a generation behind. But back to the movie - a definite must see for all you women, a decent date movie (unless you fear having to live up to that sort of nonsense), and good fun for anyone wanting to know what it must be like to speak in tongues.

I only slept about 1.5hrs and then they woke us for breakfast. This was better than dinner actually - hot ham, eggs, rolls (though hard), some yogurt (ugh), and more deli meat. Apparently our travelling counterparts didn't get the hot portion of breakfast like we did. Too bad. So we finally landed in Copenhagen (1pm their time).

We found our luggage, the rental counter and each other fairly easily. Got some cash exchanged, got a car, got directions and left. Considering we were in a foreign land I was impressed we had done so well. Then we got to the car. Four engineers, all mechanical mind you, and we couldn't get the damn trunk open. In my own defense I didn't even try to open it, differing to the elder's wisdom. Eventually someone tried turning the key the other way. Oh yeah, this was going to be a long trip - lol.

Tune in tomorrow for the continuation of Sunday, when you'll hear chuck say, "Man, I need to move here!"
