Sending Emails That Get Results By Kevin Bates The second way to connect with women online is by emailing them. Now, the big mistake guys make here is being way too picky about who they email, and then spending way too much time composing each email. Unless you look like Brad Pitt, a certain percentage of women, often a big percentage, won’t respond to your email no matter how much time, effort, and caring went into writing it. There are several possible reasons for this. But the first and most common is that you might have a “deal breaker” in their eyes. A deal breaker is something about you that no matter how great a guy you are in other areas, she won’t consider you for a potential date because of one vital fact about you. Maybe you’re White, and she only goes out with Asians, or Blacks, or Latinos. Or maybe you’re Asian, and she only goes out with Indians. Maybe you’re tall, and she likes short guys. Maybe you’re short, and she likes tall guys. Maybe you’re fit, and she likes pudgy guys that have more bounce to the ounce. Get the idea here? So you need to be sending enough emails to get past all the women who won’t consider dating you for any of the reasons listed above. And if you’re spending 10 minutes or more on each email you send, you’re going to drive yourself nuts. Because you’re going to get very little results for the time you put in. So I recommend sending a form letter, and then customizing it slightly for each woman. Here’s an example: “Hey (her profile name): How’s match.com treating you? Are you getting bombarded by all the internet players? Or how about the needy guys? Anyway, you’re profile caught my attention, so I thought I’d send you an email. (Insert here something about her profile that you noticed, liked, or have in common). If you tend to click with smart, athletic, fun guys, we should get together on the phone and see where it goes. My number is (123) 456-7890. Or I can call you, whichever you prefer. A couple of things you might have noticed: I included my phone number in the email. The reason for this is some women who joined online dating services decide for a variety of reasons to stop paying their subscription. When this happens, their profile stays up, and they still receive emails, but they can no longer respond. Online dating companies do this to entice previous members to rejoin and start paying their subscriptions again. So by you including your phone number in the email, it allows all these women to contact you. I also included my email as another way for women who are no longer subscribers to contact me. The potential problem with this is that some sites will automatically delete email addresses that are in the body of emails. So you can try this, but I definitely recommend also including your phone number in all emails you send. Lastly, at the end of the email I created some urgency for them to contact me soon. This isn’t necessary, but it’s a nice touch. Try emails with and without the urgency, and see if it makes a big difference in the number of women following up with you.
