| Riverview Junior High School student, Ikki is a lively and easygoing boy, though a bit timid. In fact his Medabot Metabee used to wrap him around his little finger. But after fighting together in several Robattles, a strong bond grows between them. Girls are a different matter: Ikki doesn't know how to handle them, and is definitlely under the thumb of his childhood buddy Arika. Though not a full-fledged Medafighter, he gradually matures through his skirmishes with rival Medafighters, eventually coming to represent Japan in the World Robattle Tournament. |
| Childhood pal and fellow student of Ikki. Arika is a strong-minded girl who is always bossing him around. Arika who'll do anything for a scoop, is always toting her camera in search of a story, assisted by her Medabot, Brass. She also has a sweet feminine side and a bit of a soft spot for Ikki. |
| Rosewood Private School student Koji is the mollycoddled and rather snooty son on a good family. Something of an ace Medafighter, Koji and his Medabot Sumilidon are legendary for never having lost a Robattle. Feelings of camaradereie for his rival Ikki, they co-exist with a sense of competition. He makes up for his lack of Medaforce power by diligently training hard to acquire the mysterious power of the Shadow Sword. He thinks of himself as the boyfriend of Karin. |
| The Screws are a gang who include Samantha, Sloan, and Spyke. They cause trouble everywhere they go. Samantha, the girl in the group, is leader of the gang. Sloan is behind in a few ways and Spyke is a coward. Samantha's Medabot is Peppercat, Sloan's is Totalizer and Spyke's is Cyandog. |
| Mr.Referee is an official referee from the Medabots World Championship. A bit of a character Mr.Referee appears out of nowhere, to referee Ikki and his friends Robattles. Always dressed strangely, and a bit clumsy, no Robattle would be complete without him. |

The current World Champion Medafighter and representative for Kenya in the World Robattle Tournament. His unfeeling battle style earns him the dislike of Ikki's team but by the same token he feels uncomfortable with Ikki's techniques. He feels no qualms however about declaring that for him Medabots are nothing but tools. The reason he thinks this way is tied up with what happened 8 years previously, when the Medabots ran amok. He uses a King Lion-Type Medabot called Warbandit. |

Leader of the Rubberobo Gang. Dr.Meta-Evil is a sly string-puller who sees Dr. Aki as kis nemesis. His controlling interest is to collect Rare Medals, but his real intention is far more sinister. He plans to make strong Medabots Robattle to cause a distruption in the Medaforce. His evil powers will be put to the test if Ikki and kis friends have anythingto say about it. |
