Obverse A cross sorrounded by a laurel wreath. Each arm of the cross bears a "St Brendan's Knot" and in the center the words "De Barr Calmacta"
Reverse The inscription "An Bonn Mileata Calmacta" and below that a scroll for the recipients details.
Suspension Bottom - a straight bar suspender integral to the cross.
Top - a pin-back brooch with a celtic design.
Bars For subsequent awards a 7mm metal disc bearing a Celtic Triquetra is worn on the ribbon.
