Chapter Seventeen: True Magick

Jordan picked the phone up in her hand and put it to her ear. Demeter knowing she was there before Jordan even said hello she started explaining what happened with Skrina in the garden.

The two days had passed and Hestia was out of the hospital. Her wounds were healing up nicely, thanks to a little magick help too. Now another week had passed and the four, Georgia , Jim, Livia, and Gregg started hanging out with Jordan and the rest of the coven.

The entire coven had been warned about what had happened to Skrina. There were nine days left until the next full moon and Cynthia and Loren wanted everyone to be prepared. They debated whether to have the whole coven stay in one place or be scattered. They just didn't know what to do. They asked for the advice of the older people in the coven. Of course they all had different opinions about situations. Like if they're all in one place they could get killed a lot easier, it would be better if they were scattered; or it'd be better if they were together because they'd be stronger together than apart. The whole thing was just tearing at Jordan's brain. She didn't know how long she could handle it. There was only two things saving her from going insane, that was Hestia and Livia. They're optimism was keeping her going.

"You know we'll work this out." Hestia said. "I know you've been seriously stressing over this, but we're together, and nothing's gonna stop us."

Jordan just shook her head in disbelief, but Hestia's words helped out a lot to take off the major depression she was going though.

"She's right you know, and you know you can't argue me. I've been meaning to talk to you about your doubt little missy." Gregg said leaning against the wall.

The two girls jumped because it seemed like he had just came out of no where. He laughed at the looks on their faces. They both narrowed their eyes and then smiled at him.  "Anyway, I've been meaning to talk to you about that. You're a fine witch considering you've only been a witch for such a short time. I mean you're very powerful and smart. Anyone could sense that, but the weak part to you is that you don't have faith in yourself."

Jordan looked down at the ground. She knew Gregg was right, she just didn't know if she wanted to admit it or not.

"He's right you know. You'd be a heck of a better witch if you only had faith in yourself like you do in the Goddess."

Jordan opened her mouth to say something, but nothing came out. Then she just sighed and looked up at Gregg. "You're right. You're both right, I just never had faith in myself. It's because I was teased a lot in school and that damaged me and my self-esteem."

Hestia scoffed. "That was a million years, besides you got tons of people who totally love you and would give up their lives for you." Hestia looked over to Gregg who was nodding his head.

"I know I have people who love me, and I'm grateful, I just don't know if I deserve it or not." She looked down at the ground because she was afraid she couldn't look them in the eyes.

"Don't give me that." Gregg said. "You know you're worthy of us all." He walked over and put his arm around her. Then he moved some of her fiery hair out of her face and tilted it up towards his.

When she looked up she could see right up his hat. Hey, Gregg's kinda cute! She thought. Now if only he'd go around without that hat on. She just smiled when she looked at him. He had dark brown eyes just like Jim. Then she just shook her head.

"Fine, I'm worthy of you all and I can be as powerful as I want to be." Jordan said flatly. "Hey, that does feel good to get out."

"See? I am right or am I right?" Gregg said smiling a big cheery smile.

Demeter and Georgia had been getting along really well over the last week. She was teaching Georgia everything she knew about magick. It was fun having a grown up to talk to that was still almost like a kid at heart. Demeter loved Georgia 's love for having her long blonde hair in pigtails and doing strange little dances in the stores. She could sense that Aimery was getting a little jealous that she was spending all her time with Georgia and not with him, but he spent his time with his friends, so she should be able to spend her time with hers.

A few days later it was a warm spring night you could smell flowers and life fertilizing the air with it's lovely aroma. Livia was sitting on the front porch tying her shoes when Kaine walked by from being at the lake. He knew that everyone was at the Morven - Piper house, why was she still at hers? With this voice floating about that everyone thought was his evil father he didn't really want anyone to be alone. For him it was different he could protect himself, but he knew that Livia was a witch, but not powerful enough to send away something like his father. He walked over to ask her.

"Hey Livia, what are you still doing here? I thought you were going over to the Morven -Piper house?" He said trying to hide the obvious reason why he was asking her.

"I'm heading over there now, I had to feed Pele." She got up from the porch steps and started heading for the driveway. "So, are you gonna walk me there?" She said jokingly.

"Of course." Kaine was a little shocked she said that considering she is so super shy.

While they were walking up the hill and going to the Morven - Piper house they talked about a few things. Livia talked so quiet he had to tell her to speak up a few times. She just laughed and blushed a little every time he had to remind her.

"Why are you so worried about me?" She asked out of nowhere.

"What?" Kaine said a little off guard.

"I can see it in your face that you're worried, when you first came to me at the porch." She sighed.

Kaine laughed. "Well, you know how everyone is sure that voice is my dad and all, and not saying your not a good witch or anything, but you just aren't powerful enough to beat my dad, even if he is just a voice."

Livia sighed. His words hit her like a ton of bricks, even though she believed this herself it was worse when someone actually said it to her. "I know, I'm not a good witch, not at all."

"I told you I didn't mean it like that." Kaine put his arm around her shoulder, she tensed up as his arm touched her, but it slowly eased down. "I'm just saying my dad's very powerful that's all. I mean even Skrina couldn't make him go away and she's been a witch all her life."

Livia just nodded her head but didn't answer with what she wanted to say to him. It would just bring more confrontation that she didn't want to put up with right now. So she just kept her mouth shut, anyway she can't put up a good fight anyway. And she was sorta enjoying having someone having their arm around her for once.

It was the afternoon before the full moon Jordan was just about a nervous wreck though she had Hestia and Gregg, ever since Livia had that conversation with Kaine her confidence in herself went down below and who knows if she could ever get it back now. She figured anyway that Jordan was in better hands with Gregg and Hestia than with her.

Cynthia and Loren discussed with the coven some more about this all, and everyone ended up deciding that it would be a good idea if the whole coven were going to be at the Morven - Piper home. That is because in her dreams the only ones that were seen killed were the four sisters, her mom, Aimery and his dad. So if they were there it wouldn't happen like the dream, and hopefully it won't end up worse than the dream. Gregg, Livia, Georgia, Jim, Leslie and Aimery were to come over as well. Normally no one out of the coven would be involved with a coven problem, but they were going to make an exception, since they were friends, and maybe Stanley would try to get at them to get at the girls.

The coven had all brought over food and most of the mothers and Hestia were cooking some fabulous food. Everyone else out in the garden could smell the fragrant scent out the window and everyone was just about salivating.

Georgia was talking with Demeter about some magick. Livia was in earshot; she just turned her body away from everyone. She had a slight spell of jealous run through her, but she was happy for Georgia to be in something she could really believe in. But she was just upset that she had been practicing longer than Georgia had and now Georgia is much more into it than her. She just quietly sighed and walked away. Of course no one noticed her, she could always slip away from groups and no one notices. That's one gift she was grateful she had.

She walked down the road to the cemetery there was. She just wanted to let her emotions flow and just to let them out without anyone knowing. She hated sharing her emotions with everybody. She sat next to a gravestone underneath a large willow tree. The gravestone read Hudson it was a rosy stone and underneath that it said we will carry your memory on with love. Livia wished that someone cared about her like the people who buried this Hudson person. Though she didn't want to share her emotions with anyone. She was really confused. She didn't know where to turn to, how to change, who was good, who was bad. She was just confused.

Something caught her eye across the street. It was like a golden glow, a strip of angel hair in the wind. As soon as she saw it, it disappeared. When she looked away in the corner of her eye she caught it again. What was it? She got up and wiped her eyes and went over across the street where the golden strand was. Something ran its fingers through her hair.

"So, you want true magick?" It said in a soft voice.

She turned around and no one was there. She turned back to where the golden strand it was a small golden bracelet and then within a blink of an eye the bracelet turned silver.

"So, you want true magick?" The voice echoed again. "Put on the bracelet and you'll know true magick."

There was something wrong about this. This woman's voice seemed unreal and not what it was. She bent down and picked up the bracelet it shined and shimmered in the afternoon sun. It looked like a silver hair from a Crone Moon Goddess. The beauty of it totally hypnotized her.

"Do you want true magick girl? Put the bracelet on!" The voice was beginning to sound inpatient.

Livia didn't like the tone the voice was giving off. Maybe she was right, and it was letting it's true self out. But who would try to get her anyway? She was worthless. She looked in the direction of the voice, at first she didn't know what to say, but then the words filled her mouth before they came to her mind.

"Show yourself to me, then I'll decide whether to trust you or not."

"Do you want true magick girl? Put on the bracelet." It repeated itself, but it took away the impatience in its voice.

"Yes, I want true magick, but only in the light of good." She answered.

"Magick isn't good or evil, it's what the witch or spellcrafter does with it." The voice said.

"Are you Stanley?" Livia asked, getting right to the point.

A shape of a man appeared before her. Though she had never seen Stanley before she knew it was him. His eyes darted toward her, it seemed to have fire twirling in and out of them. It looked like the fire was in rage and pain.

"I would like to give this gift of true magick to you Livia. You may not know it now, but you have great power within you." He raised his hand and then lowered it down. He put his hand out to Livia. "Come, join the side that is true. That is pure. Pure magick, it's what you've always wanted. Isn't it Livia?"

Livia backed away. "Yes, but not like this. I only want to help people. Not hurt them. And you worship some bad spirit that you just gave a name, to make it powerful. But it's not as powerful as the Goddess, and I know when I'm ready she'll give me the power I need, even if it takes a thousand years."
